My cat is a drama queen who launches herself full-speed at scratching posts, and this one hasn't budged an inch thanks to that 1.6-inch thick base. The sisal post is generously padded and she's already claimed it as her nap spot.

That base plate is an absolute tank—20 by 20 inches and over an inch and a half thick, so the whole thing doesn't budge even when my 14-pound chonk launches himself onto the top perch. The sisal post is hefty too, and he's already claimed it as his favorite spot for a good stretch and scratch.

The 20x20 inch base plate feels rock solid even when my 12-pound guy launches himself onto the top perch, and the 6-inch-thick sisal post has already survived a week of daily clawing without fraying. I'm actually relieved I don't have to brace it every time he jumps down.
