My chunky British Shorthair claimed this within minutes of me setting it up. The 3-4 inch thickness gives him enough support to spread out fully without sinking to the floor.

The 19-inch diameter is perfect for my big cat, and the 3-4 inch thickness gives it a nice plush feel. It's a bit lighter in color than the photo showed, but it matches my living room fine.
